2. Read the output diagnostic trouble codes. Then follow the troubleshooting procedure in the Diagnostic Trouble Codes table.

Note:
- The random access memory (RAM) built into the control unit can store 10 diagnostic trouble codes.
- The same fault code may be stored three times.
- If the number of codes stored in memory exceeds ten, then the already recorded codes are erased in sequence, starting with the most
- early in the recording time.
- Do not disconnect the battery until all diagnostic trouble codes or variations have been read, as they will all be cleared.
