Location

1. To prevent damage to the electrical system due to short circuit or overload, each individual electrical circuit is equipped with a fuse.

2. Fuse boxes are located in the passenger compartment and in the engine compartment.
  • a) Vehicle interior: The fuse box is located in front of the driver's seat behind the lower cover of the instrument panel.

  • b) Engine compartment: The fuse and relay box is located in the left front part of the engine compartment near the battery.

Replacing the fuse

1. If the headlights or other electrical components do not work, check the fuses and fuses. If any of the elements are burnt out, they must be replaced.

Note: Before replacing fuse links, determine the cause of the electrical overload and make necessary repairs.

Warning: Do not use wire instead of fuse links, even for temporary installation, as this may cause damage to the electrical system and lead to fire.

2. Replacing the fuse or fusible link.
  • a) Before replacing a fuse, be sure to turn off the target electrical circuit and turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position.
  • b) Remove the cover from the fuse box and determine which element has burned out.

Note: If you are not sure whether the fuse in question is blown or not, replace the suspect fuse with another fuse that you are sure is working properly to check.

  • c) Use the load power table on the cover to determine the rating of the blown fuse.
  • d) The fuse boxes in the passenger compartment or engine compartment have special pullers for removing fuses.
  • d) Using a special puller, remove the fuse from the block by pulling it straight out towards you.

Note: If the target electrical circuit does not work and the fuse is not blown, then something else is causing the problem.

  • e) Securely insert a new fuse with the same characteristic (rating) into the clamp.

Attention:
  • Install only a fuse with the ampere rating indicated on the fuse box cover.
  • Do not use a fuse with a higher amperage rating or any other objects ("bugs") such as wire, foil, etc., in place of a blown fuse or fusible link. This may cause more serious damage or fire.
  • If there is no spare fuse, then in critical situations you can remove the fuses from positions that are not necessary for normal operation of the car (for example: "RADIO" or "A/C") and use them if their rating matches the required one.
  • If you do not have a fuse with the correct rating, you should use a fuse with a lower rating, as close to the rating as possible.
  • If the newly installed fuse also blows after a short time, this indicates a fault in the electrical system.

Note: It is recommended to keep a set of spare fuses in the vehicle.

Load capacity of fuse links

The fuse box cover shows the names of the electrical circuits and the characteristics of the fuses and fuse links.

Note: The location and possibly the rating of the fuses in different configurations may differ slightly from those shown in the figures.
