2. The catalytic converter is a device for reducing toxicity of exhaust gases. When operating a vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter, observe the following precautions:
- a) During and after engine operation, the exhaust pipe is heated to a high temperature. To avoid fire, do not park the car over flammable materials such as leaves, paper, dry grass, etc.,
- b) Use only unleaded gasoline.
- c) Do not drive with a very low fuel level in the tank.
- d) Do not allow the engine to idle for more than 10 minutes.

3. Keep the engine in good working order. Malfunctions in the ignition and fuel supply systems can lead to overheating of the catalytic converter.
4. When operating the vehicle, observe the following precautions:
- a) Avoid inhaling engine exhaust gases, this may cause unconsciousness or even death, as the gases contain carbon monoxide (a colourless, odourless gas).
- b) Periodically check the exhaust system for holes (burnout) or loose fasteners. Check the system immediately if there is extraneous noise in the exhaust sound or exhaust gases entering the passenger compartment.
- c) Do not allow the engine to run in a closed area (garage) longer than necessary to enter or exit.
- d) Do not remain in a parked vehicle for a long time with the engine running.
