Engine oil change (Hyundai Santa Fe CM)

0
Caution! On vehicles equipped with engines with a catalytic converter, it is necessary to ensure that the oil level on the dipstick is not above the maximum mark. If too much oil has been poured into a vehicle with a catalytic converter, the excess oil must be removed from the crankcase by draining or suction (using a special vacuum pump), otherwise unburned oil will penetrate the exhaust system and can destroy the catalytic converter.

Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

Turn off the engine.

Remove the oil filler cap and unscrew the drain plug of the oil pan. Drain the engine oil.

Install and tighten the drain plug to the specified torque.

Tightening torque of the drain plug: 35–45 N·m.

Note: Do not reinstall the sealing washer under the plug.

Fill the engine with fresh engine oil through the oil filler neck.

The filling capacity without changing the oil filter is 3 l, with changing the oil filter – 4.3 l.

Caution! Do not fill the engine with engine oil above the maximum level. This will cause oil aeration and reduce oil pressure.

Install the oil filler cap.

Start the engine and let it run.

Turn off the engine and check the engine oil level. Add oil if necessary.
