Fig. 2.391. Accelerator pedal mounting bolts
Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the accelerator pedal bracket assembly (Fig. 2.391).
Checking the pedal
Check the inner cable and the accelerator pedal cable housing for damage.
Check the free movement of the inner sheathed accelerator pedal cable.
Check the accelerator pedal lever and lever axle (on the bracket) for deformation.
Check the accelerator pedal return spring for wear or deterioration.
Check the reliability of the connection of the bushing and the metal end of the accelerator pedal cable braid.
Check that the accelerator pedal is working properly.
Installing the pedal
Fig. 2.392. Place of application of consistent lubricant
When installing the return spring on the accelerator pedal lever axle, apply universal grease to all areas where the spring and lever axle contact the accelerator pedal lever (Fig. 2.392).
Apply sealant to the mounting bolt holes, then install the accelerator pedal bracket and tighten the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque of the accelerator pedal bracket bolts: 8–12 N·m.
Fig. 2.393. Installing the cable bushing on the end of the accelerator pedal lever
Securely install the plastic bushing of the accelerator pedal cable onto the end of the accelerator pedal lever (Fig. 2.393).
