Checking and adjusting the travel of the parking brake lever (Mitsubishi Matrix)

0
Apply approximately 196 N of force to the parking brake lever and count the number of clicks.

The parking brake lever stroke is 8 clicks.

If the stroke of the parking brake lever (number of clicks) does not correspond to the nominal value, adjust the stroke of the lever by turning the adjusting nut on the equalizer of the parking brake drive cable (Fig. 6.8).

The brake system indicator lamp goes out when the parking brake lever is fully released and lights up when the lever is raised one notch on the ratchet (click). If the indicator lamp does not operate as specified, replace the lamp.

After adjustment, check that the rear brakes do not grab when the parking brake lever is fully released.
