Removal

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the throttle body (Fig. 2.328).

Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable (Fig. 2.329).
Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body.
Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation valve hose and the brake booster vacuum hose.

Remove the vacuum hose fitting (Fig. 2.330).

Remove the intake manifold receiver support bracket (Fig. 2.331).
Before disconnecting the high pressure fuel hose from the fuel rail, relieve any residual pressure in the system.

Disconnect the fuel hoses from the fuel manifold (Fig. 2.332).

Remove the intake manifold receiver and gasket (Fig. 2.333).

Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness connector (Fig. 2.334).

Remove the fuel manifold together with the injectors and fuel pressure regulator (Fig. 2.335).
Caution: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.

Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector (Fig. 2.336).

Remove the intake manifold assembly and gasket (Fig. 2.337).
Checking the intake manifold and receiver
Check the parts for cracks and damage.
Check the condition of the air passages, coolant outlet and supply channels and vacuum hose fittings. Clean if necessary

Using a scriber and a flat feeler gauge, measure the warpage of the intake manifold mating surface (Fig. 2.338).
Nominal value of flatness: less than 0.15 mm.
Maximum permissible value: 0.20 mm.

Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque:
- Intake manifold - 19–21 Nm.
- Intake manifold receiver - 15–20 Nm.
