Pic. 5.2. Stand for measuring the turning radius of steered wheels
Mount the front wheels on a turning radius measuring stand and measure the steering angles (pic. 5.2).
The nominal value of steering angles is given below.
Inner wheel: 35.1°±1°30'.
Outer wheel: 30.7°.
If the angle of rotation does not correspond to the nominal value, then adjust the linkage (front wheel alignment) and check the angle of rotation again.
Note. After adjusting the tie rods, install the tie rod protectors so that they are not twisted.
The steering angle of the inner wheel changes by 0.86°when the tie rod is rotated one revolution.
