For normal operation of the heater, set the air intake mode selection switch to the outside air intake mode and the ventilation mode selection knob to the "foot area" position.

For faster heating, set the air intake mode selector switch to the air recirculation mode.

If the windows fog up, set the ventilation mode selector knob to the "towards the windshield and side window heating deflectors" position. This will automatically turn on the air conditioner and the outside air intake mode.

For maximum heat, set the air temperature control knob to the "Warm" position.

The car has a "foot/head" mode. This allows warm air to be supplied through the vents to the feet and cooler air to be supplied through the vents to the upper part of the cabin. To activate this mode, set the air intake mode selector switch to the outside air intake mode .

Set the ventilation mode selection knob to the "foot/head" position.

Set the desired fan speed.

Set the air temperature control knob between the "Cool" and "Warm" positions.

Use this position to remove frost/condensation (fogging) from the windshield.

To remove frost or condensation (fogging) from the inside of the windshield, set the ventilation mode selector knob to the "towards the windshield and side window heating deflectors" position . In this case, the air conditioner and outside air intake mode will be automatically turned on.

Set the air temperature control knob to the desired position.

Set the fan mode switch between positions "1" and "4".

In this case, the air conditioner and outside air intake mode will be automatically switched on (Fig. 1.84).

Set the air temperature control knob to the "Warm" position.

Set the fan mode switch to position "3" or "4".

Note: If the air conditioner is operated for a long time with the ventilation mode selector knob set to the "foot area/windshield and side window defroster" position or the "windshield and side window defroster" position, the inside of the windshield may fog up due to the temperature difference. In this case, set the ventilation mode selector knob to the "head area" position and turn on the low fan speed.

Ventilation system control

To prevent dust or unwanted odors from entering the vehicle, temporarily set the air intake mode selector switch to air recirculation mode. To maintain fresh air in the vehicle, be sure to return the air intake mode selector switch to outside air intake mode. This helps the driver feel alert and comfortable.

Air for the heating/cooling system is drawn in through louvers located directly in front of the windshield. Keep these louvers free of leaves, snow, ice or other foreign objects.

To prevent the windshield from fogging up, set the air intake mode selector switch to the outside air intake position and the fan mode switch to the desired position.
