Central lock (Hyundai Sonata EF)

Note: If any door is open when the central door locking system is activated, the door lock will be automatically locked after it is closed.

1. When the driver's door is unlocked/locked with the key, all doors will be automatically unlocked/locked.

2. When unlocking/locking the driver's door (and the front passenger door on models with a standard anti-theft system) using the internal lock button (on the internal door opening handle), all door locks are unlocked/locked simultaneously.

3. Some modifications are equipped with a remote control system for central door locking. All doors are unlocked and locked by pressing the corresponding button on the key fob. When you press the button on the key fob, the indicator lights up. The direction indicators will flash once when the doors are locked or twice when the doors are unlocked, indicating that the central door locking system is activated. Using the boot lid unlock button, you can:

1 - unlock, 2 - lock, 3 - trunk lid.

1 - unlock, 2 - lock, 3 - trunk lid.

Note: On some models, unlocking the door locks occurs in 2 stages: when you press the "UNLOCK" button, only the driver's door lock is unlocked. When you press the "UNLOCK" button again, all the locks are unlocked.

Attention:
  • If the remote door locking/unlocking does not work, or the indicator lights up dimly or does not light up, then the transmitter battery is discharged.
  • Do not expose the key fob transmitter to any impact, liquids or direct sunlight.

Note:
  • The remote keyless entry system will not operate if the key is in the ignition, any door is not closed properly, or the transmitter battery is dead.
  • The transmitter works within 5 m of the vehicle. However, the range of the transmitter may change if the vehicle is near a power station, radio transmitter or other source of interference.

4. The driver's door panel has a main switch for the central door locking system. When the upper part of the switch is pressed, all door locks are automatically locked. In addition, the side door locks cannot be unlocked with the door handle button from the inside or with the key from the outside of the car. When the lower part of the switch is pressed, all door locks are automatically unlocked, so that their locks can be unlocked either with the key from the outside or with the button from the inside.

1 - unlock, 2 - lock.

1 - unlock, 2 - lock.

Replacing the transmitter battery

1. Separate the transmitter housing with a screwdriver as shown in the figure.

1. Separate the transmitter housing…
