Fig. 7.1. Malfunction Symptom #1
Preliminary troubleshooting
Before troubleshooting the cruise control system, check the following components and parts, and if they are not in good condition, troubleshoot them.
Check that the control cables and vacuum hoses (cruise control vacuum pump, cruise control electric drive and cruise control electric drive sector) are connected and routed correctly.
Check the smooth movement of the cruise control system electric drive sector in assembly and the cruise control drive cable.
Check for excessive free play or excessive tension in the control cables.
Troubleshooting procedures
First, determine the nature of the fault symptom using the "Fault Finding Algorithm by Their Symptoms" below. Assess the condition of all circuits.
(The article is based on information website: «www.HyundaiBook.ru»)
Please perform the following preliminary checks:
- check that the cruise control electric drive and accelerator pedal cable are installed correctly. Check that the control cables and transmission mechanisms are securely connected to each other;
- check the smoothness of the accelerator pedal movement;
- adjust the accelerator pedal cable so that there is no excessive free play and no excessive cable tension;
- check that the cruise control motor wiring connectors, cruise control main switch, cruise control control switch, and all cruise control cancel switches wiring connectors are securely and properly connected.
Perform the check in the sequence given in the "Algorithm for finding faults by their symptoms".
If no faulty components are found during the inspection, replace the cruise control electronic control unit.
