General information about the charging system (Hyundai Santa Fe CM)

The charging system consists of a battery, a generator with a built-in voltage regulator, a battery discharge indicator lamp, and wiring. The generator has a rectifier unit consisting of six diodes (three positive and three negative), passing through which the alternating voltage is converted into direct voltage. Direct voltage is supplied to the "B" terminal of the generator

In addition, the charging voltage produced by the generator is regulated by a system that maintains a constant battery charge level.



The main components of the generator are the rotor, stator, rectifier unit, brushes, bearings and pulley for the belt drive from the crankshaft (Fig. 7.18). The built-in electronic voltage regulator is attached to the brush holder.
