Place the belt on the tensioner pulley and install the tensioner on the engine.

If the tensioner is already installed, loosen the tensioner mounting bolts to allow the belt to be put on (Fig. 2.203).
Tightening torque of belt tensioner mounting bolts: 20–27 N·m.
Put on the belt in the sequence shown below.
Generator – power steering pump – crankshaft – air conditioning compressor.

Using a 16 mm wrench, turn the tensioner lever clockwise approximately 14 degrees and place the belt on the guide roller (Fig. 2.204).
Check the belt for damage and that the belt is seated correctly in the pulley grooves.

The belt tension indicator should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. If not, replace the belt (Fig. 2.205).
