Checking the engine oil level (Mitsubishi Matrix)

Place the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface.

Warm up the engine.

Note: If the car has been parked for a long time, warm up the engine for approximately 20 minutes.


Turn off the engine, wait 2-3 minutes and then check the engine oil level.

Check that the engine oil level is within the permissible range indicated on the engine oil dipstick. If the engine oil level reaches the minimum value (mark "L") or is below it, add oil up to the mark "F" (Fig. 2.1).

Note: When filling, use engine oil that matches the type of oil currently in the engine.


Check for contamination of engine oil or impurities of coolant and gasoline in the oil. Make sure that the engine oil has the appropriate viscosity.
